The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ward 4, Ibadan North Local Government, on Saturday successfully conducted its ward executive congress, with party faithful turning out in impressive numbers to participate in the internal exercise.
The congress, which was held in the ward of the Federal Representative for Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as DoN, was described by observers as peaceful, transparent, and reflective of the unity within the party at the grassroots.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were present at the venue at the scheduled time to oversee proceedings, further lending credibility to the process. The exercise, according to reports, was orderly, with aspirants and delegates demonstrating maturity and adherence to party guidelines.
Addressing party members after the exercise, Hon. Oyekunle expressed his gratitude to the faithful for their massive turnout and peaceful conduct, noting that their commitment to internal democracy is a testimony to PDP’s strength in Ibadan North.
“I must commend our leaders, delegates, and faithful members for making today’s congress a success. The peaceful manner in which this exercise was conducted shows the discipline, unity, and democratic spirit that our party stands for. Together, we will continue to strengthen our structures ahead of future electoral victories,” the lawmaker said.
He further assured members of his continued dedication to ensuring that Ward 4 and Ibadan North as a whole remain a stronghold of the PDP under the visionary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde.
With the successful conclusion of the ward congress, PDP stakeholders in Ibadan North have reaffirmed their readiness to consolidate the party’s dominance and deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.
