The Federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN), has paid a courtesy visit to the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja.

The visit, held at the Olubadan’s bodija residence, was described as both symbolic and historic. It underscored the lawmaker’s respect for Ibadan’s revered traditional institution and his commitment to the cultural heritage of the ancient city.

Welcoming him, Oba Ladoja praised Oyekunle’s humility and dedication, urging him to remain steadfast in championing the development of Ibadanland and the welfare of his constituents.

In his remarks, Oyekunle described the Olubadan as a custodian of Yoruba tradition and a unifying figure whose wisdom continues to inspire leadership across Nigeria.

“Coming here today is not only to pay homage but also to draw from the fountain of wisdom of our highly respected Kabiyesi,” he said. “Ibadan remains the pride of the Yoruba race, and as a representative of the people, I am committed to ensuring that our culture, values, and aspirations are well represented at the national level.”

He also restated his pledge to effective representation, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development in Ibadan North, stressing that collaboration with traditional leaders will remain central to his approach.
