Grassroots First: Dr. OTOPE Sustains Monthly Empowerment, Credits Makinde’s Leadership
Hon. Dr. Temitope Oladimeji, popularly known as OTOPE, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to grassroots empowerment, declaring that his appointment as Director-General of the Oyo State Liaison Offices in Abuja and Lagos remains a platform to give back to his people in Egbeda/Ona-Ara and Oyo State at large.

Speaking on his forthcoming empowerment initiative, OTOPE disclosed that by September, another round of fuel palliative support for Commercial Tricycle (Maruwa) operators will be unveiled — the fourth of its kind for his people. He urged constituents to “watch out for the date,” assuring them that his interventions will continue to ease economic hardship and uplift livelihoods.
“As I do say, there won’t be any month I will not empower my people either in Egbeda or Ona-Ara, even both. But I must acknowledge that all these are made possible because His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, gave me the rare opportunity to serve in this capacity,” OTOPE reaffirmed.

Over the past two years, Dr. Oladimeji has combined his official responsibilities in Abuja and Lagos with impactful community-driven programmes back home — all of which he attributes to the leadership, vision, and support of Governor Seyi Makinde. His major contributions include strengthening ties between Oyo State and federal MDAs, corporate organisations, and investors in Abuja and Lagos, thereby promoting the state as an investment-friendly destination.
Distribution of 30,000 branded exercise books across 30 schools in Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, easing parents’ burdens and encouraging pupils’ learning. Provision of solar panels to over 10 communities, improving access to electricity and boosting local economic activities. Provision of JAMB and NECO GCE forms to over 200 students with tutorial classes across Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency.

Fuel-support palliatives for over 2,000 commercial motorcycle (Okada) riders and tricycle (Maruwa) operators in Egbeda and Ona-Ara LGs. Educational, medical, and business empowerment programmes through the OTOPE Foundation, directly touching widows, artisans, students, and the unemployed.
Facilitation of federal and state government projects for the benefit of the people. Representation of Governor Seyi Makinde at strategic functions, while ensuring government benefits and opportunities reach Oyo indigenes. Coordination of ongoing Online Voters’ Card Registration across all wards, ensuring youths and eligible voters are not left behind in democratic participation.

Beyond his official duties, OTOPE has remained a visible advocate of Governor Makinde’s administration, mobilising support, bridging gaps between the state and the diaspora, and consistently giving back to his constituency through monthly empowerment drives.
He concluded with gratitude: “My people are my priority. This office has given me wider access and opportunities, but it is His Excellency’s visionary leadership that has made it possible. Egbeda/Ona-Ara will always feel my presence, and as long as God gives me life, I won’t stop giving back.”
With his September empowerment programme already stirring excitement, OTOPE is once again proving that politics and governance must go hand in hand with loyalty, grassroots service, compassion, and consistency.
Above all, he lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for his people-first governance style, describing him as a leader who empowers his appointees to touch lives, builds inclusive platforms for development, and ensures that no community is left behind in the Oyo Project.
