Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as DoN and the PDP candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

In a heartfelt statement released on Monday, Hon. Oyekunle commiserated with His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the entire sons and daughters of Ibadanland, both at home and in the diaspora, on the demise of the revered monarch.

“As a true son of the soil, I am pained by this monumental loss. The transition of our royal father is a deeply emotional moment for all of us. The Olubadan was not just a traditional ruler — his reign was impactful, wise, and resourceful. He carried the throne with dignity and used his influence to foster peace, unity, and development in Ibadanland,” DoN stated.

He described the late Olubadan as a towering symbol of tradition and cultural pride, whose leadership brought honor and stability to the ancient city of Ibadan.

Hon. Oyekunle extended his condolences to the Olubadan-in-Council, the royal family, and all residents of Ibadan, urging them to take solace in the rich legacy of service, humility, and wisdom the monarch left behind.
