PHOTOS: NYSC Honors Oyo State Government With National Award
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has presented the Oyo State Government with a prestigious ‘Sustainability Award’ in recognition of the Government’s outstanding commitment to Youth development and empowerment. The award was received by the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, Dr. Seun Fakorede, MNSE, who also doubles as the Chairman NYSC Governing Board in the State. This remarkable achievement comes as NYSC celebrates its 50th anniversary, further cementing its dedication to fostering a sustainable future for the Nigerian Youth.
The Sustainability Award, presented during a grand Award Night ceremony held at the Federal Capital Territory on the 20th of May 2023, acknowledged the Oyo Government’s remarkable efforts in promoting sustainable development initiatives that directly impact the lives of young people. The Oyo State Government has consistently demonstrated a solid commitment to Youth empowerment through various programs, interventions, and policies.
Dr. Seun Fakorede, who has been actively championing youth-focused initiatives at the local, national, and international levels, expressed his gratitude for the well-deserved recognition. He emphasized the importance of sustainable development in harnessing the potential of Nigerian Youth and ensuring their active participation in nation-building.
