Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has hinted that he will reveal his successor by the start of next year, 2026, which is expected to be a political year.
The governor made this statement at the 11th Omituntun Ramadan Lecture, held at the Government Arcade in Agodi, Ibadan, on Monday.
Makinde, who appreciated the attendees for the honor, emphasized the importance of keeping promises and embracing one another despite religious differences, as taught by the guest lecturer, Imam Yunus Olushina Tillat.
He noted that his administration is currently focused on delivering its campaign promises to the people of Oyo State.
The event was attended by dignitaries, including religious leaders, former Governor of Oyo State and Otun Olubadan Oba Rasheed Ladoja, Deputy Governor of Oyo State Barr. Adebayo Lawal, and other prominent figures.
Makinde’s decision to reveal his successor next year is seen as a strategic move, considering the political landscape of Oyo State. As the governor prepares to hand over power, his administration remains committed to fulfilling its campaign promises and ensuring a smooth transition.
