The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has led the family and team of the late Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi Jagaban former House of Representatives member for Ibadan North Federal Constituency, on a condolence visit to Governor Seyi Makinde over the passing of his eldest brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.
During the visit, Hon. Olufade once again expressed his heartfelt condolences to the governor, describing the loss as painful. He also used the opportunity to appreciate Governor Makinde’s commitment to the development of Ibadan North Local Government and the state at large.
He stated that under the governor’s leadership, the local government has witnessed tremendous growth, and the entire community remains grateful for the governor’s transformative policies.
Speaking on behalf of the family and team of the late Hon. Akinremi, Chief Abiodun Abideen Akinremi, the elder brother of the deceased lawmaker, conveyed their sympathies to Governor Makinde.
He emphasized that the loss of Engineer Sunday Makinde was deeply felt, and it was necessary to visit the governor to express their support during this difficult time.
Chief Abiodun Abideen Akinremi also extended his gratitude to Governor Makinde for the unwavering support he has shown to the Akinremi family following the demise of Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi Jagaban. “We are grateful and we won’t take this for granted” he said.
In his response, Governor Seyi Makinde expressed his appreciation for the condolence visit, noting that moments of grief reveal true friends and allies.
He stated that death is an inevitable part of life and urged the Akinremi family to remain strong.
The governor also reassured them of his continued support, emphasizing that his bond with the late Hon. Akinremi extended beyond politics.
“Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi Jagaban was someone I loved . His passing is a great loss, but I urge you all not to feel like orphans. I will always be here for you,” Governor Makinde assured.
The governor also prayed for an end to untimely deaths in Oyo State, particularly among the youth.
