Ido Council Chairman, Adeojo, Dismisses Rumors, Emphasizes Need for Approval on Projects
The executive chairman of Ido local government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, has said that the development of the council area is the responsibility of everyone who cares but urged interested individuals and groups to seek the right approval from the government before working on its properties.
Adeojo made the statement on Friday evening in his office while reacting to a rumor emanating from the opposition that he has been busy stopping Ido/Ibarapa federal constituency lawmaker, Hon. Remi Oseni, from carrying out some developmental projects in Ido local government.
In his reaction, Adeojo commended Oseni for finding it worthy to remember his constituents with projects and thereafter advised the lawmaker to always go about doing things right and in appropriate ways.
The council chairman said the development of the council area is the responsibility of all interested individuals or groups, He said that Oseni, in his efforts to deliver to his constituents, need to seek approval and support of the state and local government for some projects. However the Honourable chairman has at no time ever instructed any individual or group to inhibit any infrastructural development in Ido Local Government
” There is a rumor going around that Ido local government has been stopping the lawmaker representing Ido/Ibarapa federal constituency, Hon. Remi Oseni, from the construction of road and erection of buildings within the local government. The fact is, I will urge the people of Ido local government and the general public to disregard the rumor and take it as political blackmail”
” Ido local government and its development belongs to all, neither myself nor the local government has at no time ever stopped or will stop Engr. Remi Oseni or any individual from delivering dividends of democracy, however Hon. Oseni or interested individuals or groups are advised to seek approval from a necessary tier of government to carry out developmental projects on government properties to avoid being accused of trespassing.
” All constructions, renovations of roads, including erect of buildings need to be in line with the government plans, so make it necessary for either lawmaker, individuals or groups to liaise with appropriate offices in government before carrying out their aimed construction projects,” Adeojo said
Adeojo thereafter implored the opposition party and Hon. Remi Oseni loyalists to stop misleading the public, saying the lawmaker would never be stopped from delivering the dividend of democracy.
