300 Billion Loan: “You are cancerous to your Constituency,” Yusuf Taoreed Lambasts Hon Ibrahim Shittu
In a scathing criticism, Yusuf Taoreed, a resident of Saki West, has lambasted Hon. Ibrahim Shittu, accusing him of being “cancerous” to his constituency and adding “zero value” to Saki Land. According to Taoreed, Hon. Shittu’s performance has been abysmal, marked by a disturbing lack of participation in critical legislative sittings and oversight duties.

“Hon. Shittu is always absent at all critical legislative sittings, such as the budget presentation and the State of the State Address by the Governor,” Taoreed alleged. This absenteeism, Taoreed argued, demonstrates a clear lack of commitment to the welfare of the people of Saki Land. “It’s unfortunate that our representative fails to show up when it matters most,” Taoreed added. The absence of Hon. Shittu from these crucial meetings has raised concerns about his ability to effectively represent the interests of his constituency.
Taoreed also criticized Hon. Shittu for peddling unfounded allegations, particularly with regards to a N300 billion loan. “The loan includes N149 billion meant to refinance an existing loan facility with United Bank for Africa (UBA), while only N151 billion constitutes a new request to support infrastructure and contractors’ financing,” Taoreed clarified. This distinction, Taoreed emphasized, is crucial in understanding the true nature of the loan and its implications for the state. By failing to acknowledge this distinction, Hon. Shittu has demonstrated a lack of understanding of the issues or a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.

Furthermore, Taoreed highlighted Hon. Shittu’s lack of contribution to the recently concluded extensive oversight visits to executive and local government projects across the state. “His absence extended to all previous oversight duties and committee assignments, where his contributions are either non-existent or irrelevant,” Taoreed added. This lack of engagement, Taoreed argued, raises serious questions about Hon. Shittu’s ability to effectively represent the interests of Saki Land. The people of Saki Land deserve a representative who is actively engaged in the legislative process and committed to their welfare.
The criticism underscores growing concerns about Hon. Shittu’s effectiveness as a representative of Saki Land. Taoreed’s statement serves as a call to action for Hon. Shittu to reevaluate his approach and prioritize the needs of his constituency. As the people’s representative, it is imperative that Hon. Shittu demonstrates a genuine commitment to serving the people of Saki Land. The people of Saki Land expect more from their representative, and it is time for Hon. Shittu to take his responsibilities seriously.

Taoreed further questioned Hon. Shittu’s commitment to his constituents, citing a recent example of another member of the 10th House of Assembly who had distributed over N6 million to his people. “I wonder why Hon. Shittu hasn’t done the same for his constituents,” Taoreed said. “If another member can prioritize the welfare of his people in such a tangible way, why has Hon. Shittu failed to do so for the people of Saki Land?”
Hon. Shittu is out of touch with the needs and concerns of his constituents. Toareed Concluded”
