2027: What I Will Do Differently If Chosen to Represent Egbeda/Ona-Ara, Says Otope as He Declares Interest, Donates ₦3m to PDP Members

A leading aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji, popularly known as OTOPE, has officially declared his intention to contest the seat under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 general elections.


The declaration event, which attracted party leaders, local government chairma, stakeholders and party faithful from across the constituency, witnessed an overwhelming show of support for the aspirant.

Addressing the gathering, Otope urged party members to remain steadfast and committed to the ideals and values of the party, noting that the party’s leader in the state, Seyi Makinde, continues to work tirelessly to ensure stability and success for the party ahead of future elections.


According to him, internal challenges within political parties are not unusual and would eventually be resolved.
“These kinds of tribulations are not new in political parties. At the end of the day, they will be resolved. What is important is that we remain united and focused on the progress of our party and the development of our people,” he said.

Otope explained that his declaration was not merely a personal ambition but the outcome of wide consultations with key stakeholders across the constituency and the state.
He added that he had sought and received the support and approval of Governor Makinde and other party leaders before making his intention public.

“My declaration today is not just about me. I have consulted widely and sought the blessing of our leader, His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde, and other critical stakeholders who have given their support for me to go ahead. That is what has culminated in this historic gathering,” he stated.


Speaking further on his vision, the aspirant promised a different and people-oriented style of representation if given the opportunity to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.

He noted that there is already a development roadmap for the constituency which he intends to build upon while prioritising the needs and aspirations of the people.
Otope also pledged to focus on empowerment programmes, particularly for widows and youths, stressing that inclusive development would form the cornerstone of his representation.

“The priorities of the people of Egbeda and Ona-Ara will always come first. Our representation will focus on empowerment opportunities, especially for widows and youths, while ensuring that the interests of the constituency are well represented at the National Assembly,” he said.

The event was graced by several party leaders and dignitaries who commended the aspirant for his contributions to the growth of the party and development within the constituency.

In appreciation of the support shown by party leaders and faithful at the declaration, Hon. Otope announced a donation of ₦3 million to support party activities across the constituency.

The declaration marked a significant moment in the political landscape of Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
