2027 Guber Race: Olaniyan Resigns Federal Appointment
A former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Rauf Remi Olaniyan has resigned his role as the chairman of the governing council of the Federal Collage of Education, Oyo (Special).
Olaniyan announced his resignation in a letter to the Secretary to Government of the Federation on Monday, noting that his decision was driven by the need to pursue his 2027 political aspiration in the state.
“I write to formally tender my resignation from my appointment as Chairman, Governing Council of Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo with effect from 23rd March, 2026.

“This decision is taken in compliance with the directive requiring political appointees and public office holders with political aspirations ahead of the forthcoming 2027 General Election in Nigeria, particularly in preparation for participation in the party primary elections, as stipulated in the 2026 Electoral Act.
“I consider it a great privilege given by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to have served in this capacity and contributed, within my modest ability, to the growth and development of the institution during my tenure. I remain grateful for the confidence reposed in me through this appointment.
