The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources in Oyo state, Honourable Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola ,and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate for Oluyole local government ahead of the coming 2024 local government election, Akeem Olatunji on Thursday surprised party members with cash empowerment.
Mogbonjubola and Olatunji made the cash donations at a PDP stakeholder meeting held in Oluyole yesterday in preparation for the coming election into Council areas across the 33 LGs.
The duo in their separate remarks disclosed that the cash empowerment was part of their commitments to the growth of the party in the LG.
They also expressed their readiness to slog it out with opposition parties and deliver Oluyole LG for PDP in the coming 2024 local government election.
Olatunji who was former Publicity Secretary of PDP in Oyo state told journalists shortly after the stakeholders meeting that if elected, he would replicate Makinde’s approach at the grassroots for effective transformation.
He said Oluyole was blessed with vast arable land for agriculture, and a friendly business environment as many already existing local and international business firms operating within the LG could readily attest to the potential of the Council.
Olatunji stated his desire to work closely with all stakeholders in Oluyole particularly traditional leaders to give the much-desired dividends of democracy to the people of the Council area while promising to run issues-based political campaigns throughout the electioneering process.
The Chairman of PDP in Oluyole LG, Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola in his address commended Mogbonjubola and Olatunji for helping other party stakeholders to restore cohesion in the party and vowed to mobilize members across the 229 polling units under the 10 wards across Oluyole ahead of the coming LG Poll.
The Commissioner for Environment, Hon Mogbonjubola otherwise called ‘Jagaban, in his remarks expressed happiness with the commitment, dedication, and loyalty of PDP members in Oluyole to Governor Seyi Makinde assuring that the Governor’s Omititun 2.0 would bring more economic prosperity to Oluyole and the whole state at large.
He enjoined party members to remain united and shun all forms of bickering that may engender disaffection among party members while urging them to be prepared for the forthcoming local government as Governor Makinde, and the leadership of the party under Hon Dayo Ogungbenro has assured of a level playing ground.
Also in attendance among leaders and party chieftains at the elaborate PDP stakeholders meeting in Oluyole yesterday are Engr. Babalola Ayuba (former Honourable Commissioner), Hon.
