“Don’t Let Otope’s Selfless Service Go Unrewarded” — Pastor Judah Tells Party Leaders
The immediate past Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in Egbeda Local Government,Pastor Lamoyegun Judah, has strongly defended the party’s 2023 strategic decision that ceded the National Assembly ticket to Egbeda, describing it as a well-considered move taken in the overall interest of unity, equity, and electoral strength.
Pastor Judah made this known during the official declaration of Hon. Temitope Oladimeji Otope for the House of Representatives seat representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He explained that the decision was reached after extensive consultations between party leaders, stakeholders, and the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, stressing that it was driven by legitimate political considerations aimed at strengthening the PDP’s chances at the polls.
According to him, Hon. Otope demonstrated uncommon loyalty and party discipline by immediately aligning with the resolution of the leadership, working tirelessly to mobilize support and ensure a strong outing for the party during the election, despite the eventual outcome.
Pastor Judah further cautioned stakeholders, particularly from Ona-Ara Local Government, against allowing the sacrifices and selfless contributions of Otope to go unrewarded. He noted that Otope was persuaded to step down at the time in deference to the party’s collective decision and in respect for the leadership of Governor Makinde.

He added that the political atmosphere within the constituency clearly reflects a consensus in favour of Otope, noting that since his declaration, no aspirant has come forward to openly challenge his ambition.
“It is not as though there are no capable or qualified individuals in Egbeda,” Pastor Judah stated, “but by every standard—commitment, sacrifice, and loyalty—Hon. Otope has earned the right to fly the party’s flag.”
He emphasized that Otope has consistently played a pivotal role in safeguarding the welfare of party members and maintaining cohesion among stakeholders across both Egbeda and Ona-Ara local governments.
In a show of unity, Pastor Judah revealed that party leaders and stakeholders across the constituency have collectively endorsed the candidature of Hon. Temitope Oladimeji Otope for the 2027 House of Representatives race.
The declaration event, which drew party faithful and key stakeholders, further solidified Otope’s position as the leading contender for the PDP ticket in the constituency.
