100 Days of Impact: Hon. Adeojo’s Leadership Brings Hope to Ido Local Government With Community Empowerment

Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, on Tuesday, marked his 100 days in office for his second tenure, by launching an extensive empowerment programme for hundreds of entrepreneurs and traders across the local government area.

The event, which held at the Secretariat of the Council was attended by party leaders, government officials, and community members, underscoring the administration’s commitment to grassroots development and economic empowerment.

In his address, Hon. Adeojo expressed his gratitude to the local government executives, party leaders, and other dignitaries present at the event while equally reaffirming his unwavering support and loyalty to His Excellency, Governor Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, and his leadership in Oyo State.

Monumental Legacy

Highlighting the purpose of the empowerment initiative, Adeojo stated that it was aimed at alleviating poverty and enhancing economic independence for residents of Ido Local Government.

“The empowerment initiative is targeted at making life more bearable for all and sundry within this local government.

“It is my hope that the beneficiaries will make judicious use of the opportunities provided to them today, to overcome economic challenges and achieve self-reliance,” Adeojo stated.

He further emphasized that the initiative was just the beginning, promising that he would embark on more empowerment programmes in the near future to continue supporting the people of Ido Local Government.

The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ido Local Government, in his remarks, commended Hon. Adeojo for his leadership and commitment to empowering the people.

He encouraged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the tools and financial support provided to them, saying “this empowerment programme is a golden opportunity for you to uplift yourselves in these challenging economic times.”

Hon. Mathew Akano, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Ido Local Government Affairs, also addressed the gathering.

He welcomed the executives and applauded Hon. Adeojo’s initiatives to support the local community, noting that the empowerment of entrepreneurs and traders was a strategic move to help the people navigate the current economic challenges.

He concluded that Adeojo’s efforts aligns with the broader goals of the state government under Governor Makinde’s leadership to improve the welfare of our citizens.

The highlight of the event was the distribution of various empowerment tools and financial grants to the beneficiaries including monetary awards, generating sets, clippers and hair dryers, sewing-machines, grinding machines, deep freezers and vulcanizing machines

The beneficiaries, selected from different wards within the local government, expressed their gratitude to the Chairman and his administration for the support.

They pledged to utilize the equipment and funds effectively to improve their businesses and contribute positively to the local economy.

The event concluded with a renewed sense of hope and commitment to economic empowerment among the residents of Ido Local Government as Hon. Adeojo’s leadership continues to set a strong example of inclusive governance focused on sustainable development and community empowerment.
